About the event
TO-ASEAN Business Days 2019 is a partnering event, aimed at gathering all public and private actors with an interest on Southeast Asia with the ambition to raise awareness in Italy about the region, to facilitate high-level networking and triggering private sector appetite for the area by presenting a thriving commercial network way more approachable and accessible than usually perceived.
Over two working days you will be called to participate in an introductory conference where you will be given a comprehensive insight about the Regional economy, the business opportunities and the financial environment.
Afterwards, you will have the chance to take advantage of pre-scheduled B2B meetings, where you will introduce yourself, your company and the products you are offering or looking for, by meeting up with relevant buyers and service providers.
After the B2B session, innovative companies and start ups will have the chance to join a thematic session hosted by Intesa Sanpaolo Innovation Centre.

About ASEAN Region & Italy
The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is a regional grouping that promotes economic, political, and security cooperation among its 10 members: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
With a GDP rapidly approaching 3 trillion US$ (almost five times the value in 2000) and a population of almost 650 mln people, ASEAN is today the 5th largest economy in the world and the 3rd largest in Asia (growth rate > 5%).
ASEAN’s middle class is estimated to rise up to 400 mln people by 2020 pointing to a booming consumer market.
Italy, despite these boosting trends, is not fully exploiting the potential of this region in fact Italy’s exports (7,9 billion), though growing, still remain below 2% of the total exports, significantly lower than Germany (25,2 billion) and France (15,5 billion).
Moreover, the similarity between the ASEAN and Italian industrial system, dominated by small and medium enterprises provides a fertile terrain for matching ASEAN market needs.
Therefore, huge opportunities lay ahead for stronger economic relations in both directions.
